TeamSmile is the nation's premier advocacy group that partner oral health professional's with professional athletic organizations to provide life-changing dental care to underserved children in our communities.
On July 23, 2014, Dr. Rebecca Robbins brought the first TeamSmile to Cleveland. She teamed up with the Cleveland Indians and Proctor & Gamble to make this event a reality. The Terrace Club at Progressive Field was turned into a state-of-the-art dental facility. 357 Boys and Girls Club members were treated to a day of dental care and fun. All children received a dental exam, cleaning, and treatment if necessary. This was the first dental experience for most of the children and it was positive and fun. Dr. Robbins recruited 100 volunteers including, Dr. Anderson & Team to help along with the day, which included 21 dentists. Over $150,000 of dental work was donated on this day! A visit from Cleveland Indians alumni, Joe Charboneau, Slider, and the Hotdogs topped off the dance party!
Dr. Anderson has successfully helped make TeamSmile with the Cleveland Indians an annual event. Thanks to all the support of the Cleveland Indians, Colgate, Henry Schein Dental, Midmark, Acteon North America, Denta Quest, & Ti Scrubs. Every year Dr. Anderson & his team volunteer to make this event a success. It has served over 1,200 children of the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland and collectively donated $500,000 in free dental treatment. Corey Kluber served as spokesmen in 2015 and Francisco Lindor was the 2016 Spokesman for TeamSmile.
Dr. Anderson & Team, which includes our dental hygienists, assistants, & front office staff (to register all the kiddos) are looking forward to Team Smile 2019 that will be held on June 19th, at Cleveland Indians Progressive Field!
